Co-op Programming
This program is recommended for secondary students who wish to gain up to two credits through experiential learning. This program combines online asynchronous/flex-time instruction with on-site practical work experience. Students can explore future careers or fulfil co-op requirements for Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs.
Please note that due to current DDSB IT policies, students must be in Canada to access course materials and classes. Students attempting to login from another country will not have access to their courses, and will be unable to participate in eLearning programming.
Students are required to find their own cooperative work placements within Durham Region before June 11, 2025. It is NOT the responsibility of the home school to assist with securing cooperative work placements. Placements must be available from July 7 to Aug 1, 2025, 8 hours per day between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 PM. Shutdowns or vacations cannot be accommodated. Students are responsible for providing their own electronic equipment and a stable internet connection (see technology notes in the FAQ). Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from placement.
