Small Group Physical Education Program (PPL1O1)

Important Information About Summer School 2020

  • Due to the uncertainty surrounding the re-opening of schools this summer, Durham Continuing Education is currently experiencing limitations in the types and number of courses we can offer.
  • This summer, eLearning courses will be available and on-line registration at www.dce.ca will open on May 1, 2020 at 12 pm (GMT + 5) for students to enroll in eLearning courses.
  • We are hopeful that expanded programming choices and other registration options can take place for the current 2020 summer session, pending direction from the province and public health authorities. However, Durham Continuing Education reserves the right to revise, limit or cancel programming as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and other circumstances.
(by Principal Recommendation and Invitation Only)
This grade 9 physical education course pilot program has been renewed for the summer of 2020.  It is aimed at students who may experience a high level of anxiety in regularly scheduled grade 9 physical education classes.  This course is intended to help students in the transition to high school.

Students who are approved for registration will need to select an additional course in grade 9. Registration is restricted to in-risk grade 8 students recommended by the elementary school in consultation with the parents of the student.

Classes will be co-ed and limited to 30 students per class.  Participating students and parents will be asked to complete pre and post learning surveys to help determine the impact of the program.

Successful candidates of this program will earn a credit in Physical Education (PPL1O1).
